VOTIVE PRAYERS

FOR RAIN
O God, in whom we live, move, and have our being, please grant us the rain we need, so that your answer to our present earthly needs may give us greater confidence to ask for eternal benefits. Through our Lord.

O Lord, please be appeased by the gifts that we offer you, and grant us the timely help of sufficient rain.  Through our Lord.

O Lord, please grant us saving rain, and graciously let the showers from Heaven refreshed the parched earth.  Through our Lord.  Amen.
 

FOR FINE WEATHER
O Lord, hear our cry and grant our petition for fine weather, so that we who are justly punished for our sins may feel the merciful help of your kindness.  Through our Lord.

O Lord, let your grace precede us and follow us.  Graciously accept these offerings we present to your holy name in atonement for our sins, so that through the intercession of your saints they may aid our salvation.  Through our Lord.

Almighty God, we implore your mercy to check the downpour of rain and let the sunlight of your pleasure once again shine upon us.  Through our Lord.  Amen.
 

TO AVERT STORMS
O Lord, drive away the spirit of wickedness from your household, and let the fury of the storm pass.  Through our Lord.

O Lord, we offer you our gifts of praise and gratitude for the blessings we have received, and humbly beg you to continue your benefits towards us forever.  Through our Lord.

O Almighty and eternal God, your punishments bring us healing, and your forgiveness bestows continued life.  Gladden us who ask your help, and comfort us by the fair weather we request, so that we may always use your merciful gifts to our advantage.  Through our Lord.  Amen.
